MAKING THE UPGRADE: From Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4

It seems like only yesterday we were helping clients install Universal Analytics onto their Web properties. Now that measurement tool is being sunsetted and replaced with GA4. This change stems almost exclusively from the new privacy expectations customers are demanding, and the EU is codifying.

Here at The Harrington Agency (THA), we’ve been grappling since before year-end over just what this blog should say and, more importantly, what value can it bring to people, given the deluge of blogs, webinars, and even superguides that have been produced. We decided what people could really use right now is not an introduction to the change, but a resource directory. So without further ado . . . (May I have the envelope, please?)

And these just scratch the surface of all the resources available for free. But if you are looking for a one-stop solution, just give us a shout. We will cover everything from soup to nuts, and we add in an additional month of support for free. Our migration service (365 days a year) not only sets up GA4 for you but, most importantly, teaches you how to fish for yourself so you — and not a third party — can be the master of your analytics.

Just remember, there is one golden rule above all others:

Universal historical data will not migrate to GA4. That means you only will
see analytics starting from the day you migrate — and NO TIME BEFORE.

And if all this is starting to seem a little daunting, don’t hesitate to reach out to your friends here at THA (hello@theharringtonagency.com) for any help you might need with any facet of the migration.
